Opening comments about the symposium from Stewart Plein and Jay Cole

3:15 - 3:30 p.m.:

Tribute to the late Larry Shaver, a WVU alumnus and donor whose generous contributions of books and materials over the years made the WVU Library's Asimov Collection possible

3:30 - 4:00 p.m. (12:30 - 1:00 p.m. PDT):

Conversation about the Eaton Collection of Science Fiction and Fantasy at the University of California at Riverside with Andrew Lippert, Special Collections Processing Archivist.  This conversation will be moderated by Jay Cole and will include some time for Q&A from the audience.

4:00 - 4:30 p.m.:

Presentation by Qazi Arka Rahman, doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant in the WVU Department of English, about teaching science fiction and fantasy (perhaps joined by a couple of his students).  This session will be moderated by Stewart Plein.

4:30 - 5:30 p.m. EDT (3:30 - 4:30 p.m. CDT):

Conversation about the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas with James Gunn, Founder and Director Emeritus; Chris McKitterick, Director; and Kij Johnson, Associate Director.  This conversation will be moderated by Andy Duncan, Professor of English at Frostburg State University and award-winning author, and will include some time for Q&A from the audience.
